Sheckil first appeared in the 1980 film Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back. He was played by Jeremy Bulloch, who also played Boba Fett in the film. The name "Sheckil" was first established in the Star Wars Legends Star Wars Customizable Card Game pack Cloud City Limited. The name was canonized with its inclusion in the digital card game Star Wars: Force Collection.
Originally, Bullock was not intended to play Sheckil, but ended up filling the part when the actor who was originally slated to play Sheckil was unavailable the day of shooting.
