In 3 ABY, a skirmish broke out between the Sith assassin Ochi and assassins of Crimson Dawn on an when Ochi, whose loyalty was being tested by the Sith Lord Darth Vader, attempted to find out who the Grand Hutt Council member Bokku was working with to betray Jabba Desilijic Tiure. After he spotted two assassins under a carriage, Ochi killed one of them and told the other he wanted to speak with them. The assassin informed Ochi it would be difficult because if he messed with Bokku, he messed with Crimson Dawn, revealing her affiliation as several other assassins joined her. Ochi killed a number of the assassins as he attempted to escape but found himself surrounded again. In response, Ochi told them that if they messed with him, they messed with Darth Vader. The assassins laughed at Ochi's claims, and the female assassin pointed out that whilst Ochi could maybe kill a dozen of them, he could not take out all of Crimson Dawn, before telling Ochi to join Crimson Dawn.
Ochi saw that Vader had arrived and informed the assassins, and also warned them to surrender or die. Vader, however, flew over Ochi, and landed his shuttle nearby, much to Ochi's confusion. The female assassin then told Ochi that Vader had not arrived to save him, but to test him, and again told Ochi to join them. Ochi's response was to shoot the assassin, killing her, and to run to take cover behind a rock. Eventually Ochi killed the rest of the assassins before he saw Vader stood above him, and informed the Sith Lord that Bokku was working with Crimson Dawn, though he realized that the Vader had already known this fact. As he made his way atop a rock, Ochi assured Vader that his loyalty lied with the most powerful and the pair soon found themselves surrounded by more Crimson Dawn assassins. Vader confirmed he would always be the most powerful, and Ochi laughed as the two began to cut down the assassins.
