The Smuggler's Rest was the local cantina in Fort Nowhere on Ruusan.
Every night it was the busiest and loudest location on the planet, typically serving twenty people on its dozen tables of different shapes. A useless fuel tank was used as the bar. The walls were decorated with random memorabilia. It had a drink gong that sounded whenever someone bought a round of drinks.
As Ruusan was a "lost" planet far from the Galactic community, populated by colonists and spacers, the music heard in the Rest was off-fashion by a couple of years.
One time around 5 ABY, on the eve of his dead daughter's birthday, Grif Grawley "celebrated" by burying his grief with Old Trusty until he fell unconscious. His wife Carole was summoned to and with the help of some locals, they loaded him on their skimmer to return home.
Six months later, Grif entered the cantina to meet Byron Devo III to warn him about an imminent Imperial invasion. To gain their attention, he blasted the sound system, and produced the ID plate of the Imperial droid PD 4786 which he destroyed earlier. His warning resulted to mixed response, high voices and commotion. Before leaving he said that he would be safely away from the settlement.
The cantina was probably ruined along with the rest of the Fort in the battle of Fort Nowhere.
