Squash melons were a type of round, gray fruit. When they exploded, a yellow liquid emerged from inside. In 3 ABY, the Ewok Brador was attempting to use his bordok to move a wagon filled with squash melons. However, the bordok was uncooperative and refused to move. Teebo, a young Ewok who had been designated as the leader of the village for that day, tried to help Brador by whacking his bordok's rear end. The act only infuriated the bordok, however, and it began galloping all over the village, causing chaos.
Many melons fell out of the wagon as the bordok ran, with some exploding on an Ewok's laundry and a newly built hut. The bordok eventually calmed down, but the villagers were furious with Teebo and sought to drive him away from the village. Teebo used a hang glider to escape, and when he returned, he gathered some of the fallen melons and put them in a box.
Squash melons appeared in the fourteenth issue of the Ewoks comic series, which was written by David Manak, illustrated by Warren Kremer, and published by Marvel Comics on March 31, 1987. While the melons were initially drawn as gray, later frames depict them as orange. Since the frames that depict them as gray come first and outnumber those that color the melons as orange, this article assumes that the later frames were an error.
