Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary

Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary, penned by David West Reynolds, is a reference work that DK Publishing released on October 5, 1998. As the initial entry in the Star Wars Visual Dictionaries series of Star Wars reference guides, it presents photographs and descriptions detailing aspects of the original trilogy of Star Wars films: specifically, Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back, and Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi. The book also appeared in the 1999 Star Wars Classic Limited Edition Gift Pack.

Subsequently, Visual Dictionaries were created for each movie in the prequel trilogy. These four books were later combined with additional material and re-released in 2006 under the title Star Wars: The Complete Visual Dictionary.
