Stone pepper


Stone peppers were a type of pepper that could be used as an optional ingredient in Nine-Egg Stew, a dish invented by Jedi Master Porter Engle. Like the stew itself, stone peppers were edible to humans, Ikkrukkians, and Twi'leks. In 232 BBY, Engle served Nine-Egg Stew for breakfast at the Elphrona Outpost on the planet Elphrona to Jedi Padawan Bell Zettifar and Jedi Master Loden Greatstorm, who enjoyed their meal alongside the Tholothian Jedi Knight Indeera Stokes. Zettifar—who was particularly fond of the stew—told the latter that it was fantastic that day, and Engle attributed it to the good and hard stone peppers he had found at the market and added in.

Stone peppers were mentioned in the 2021 novel The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, written by Charles Soule for the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project's Phase I.
