Teemo was the de facto ruler of Mos Shuuta, a small city on the desert world of Tatooine. He was a Hutt crime lord of considerable influence, thanks to his relation to the illustrious Jabba Desilijic Tiure. For various reasons, he made enemies of Pash, Oskara, 41-VEX, and Lowhhrick. He also went against the Hutt Cartel, secretly reverse engineering Geonosian Battle Droids and misrepresenting the amount of Ryll he was importing from his mines on Ryloth.
