Tolan Hing was a male Jedi Master who served the Jedi Order and the Galactic Republic during the Republic's final decades. Based in the Jedi Temple on the planet Coruscant, he was revered for being an expert in lightsabers' inner workings as well as the weapons' construction. He could repair almost any damage done to a lightsaber that had been used in a fight.
In 23 BBY, after Jedi Padawan Darra Thel-Tanis died in battle due to a faulty lightsaber, Jedi Padawan Ferus Olin brought the lightsaber to Hing, who found that the flux aperture and power cell's fusing needed a slight adjustment.
