Royal guards consisted of Toydarians, and these soldiers were tasked with the protection of Toydaria's King.
During discussions with the Separatists, two of these guards were detailed to safeguard King Katuunko. Although suspicious of the Dark Jedi Asajj Ventress, they refrained from engaging her. When Ventress received the order to assassinate Katuunko, they charged in to shield him, but were incapacitated by a Force push and lost consciousness. Subsequently, they regained consciousness and joined Yoda, several clone troopers, and Katuunko in embarking on a Republic gunship.
Subsequently, when Savage Opress arrived at the palace with the intention of abducting the King for Count Dooku, they endeavored to shield Katuunko. However, Opress killed all the guards that were present.
After the king's murder, the royal guards established a special unit focused on the pursuit of Force-sensitives. They carried scimitars reinforced with cortosis and underwent psychological conditioning to withstand Force abilities.
