A Tracker droid was a type of Seeker droid; it could be attached or placed on a moving target, and it would then transmit its current location. For practical purposes they were of tiny size and could move around.
Some such tracker droids were animal-shaped, moved on their own, and transmitted some audio signal to their user (via a comm unit) according to their distance from the target; the frequency and volume of clicks would increase by proximity, and became unbroken once the user approached the target.
