A transponder mask was a custom starship modification installed aboard Sythluss Leethe's YT-1300 light freighter The Maker. It was capable of switching the freighter's transponder code to broadcast a different signal. Both signals were entered into the records of the Bureau of Ships and Services, rendering them both "legal." Using this system, The Maker could use an alternate code that identified it as One Shot.
