A specialized starship alteration, known as a transponder mask, was implemented on Sythluss Leethe's YT-1300 light freighter, named The Maker. This modification allowed the freighter's transponder code to be altered, transmitting a separate identification signal. Because both signals were officially logged with the Bureau of Ships and Services, they were both considered valid. This allowed The Maker to utilize a secondary code, identifying the vessel as One Shot.
