The GR-75 medium transport was one of the transports that evacuated the Rebel base at Yavin 4 during the Galactic Empire's invasion of the moon, in retaliation for the Rebel Alliance's role in the destruction of the Death Star. Red Squadron's commander, Luke Skywalker, had Sarkli Piett sent over to aid the transports over to ensure their escape while Skywalker and Wedge Antilles entered what was their base to rescue General Jon Dodonna and the remaining staff. Sarkli begrudgingly complied, as he wanted to aid Skywalker in the mission on foot. He eventually managed to aid Skywalker and the rest by bringing the transport along to extract them. Dodonna then thanked Skywalker for getting Sarkli to escort the transports.
The transport appeared in the ending of the Revenge of the Empire level of Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike
