Juhani was spured on to become a Jedi due to the kindness of one particular Human woman
During the latter stages of the Mandalorian Wars Revan and those loyal to him led a campaign to liberate the Outer Rim world of Taris from Mandalorian occupation. While on Taris the Jedi drove the Exchange from the planet, and freed many of the slaves they were holding, including a young Cathar girl named Juhani. Recognizing the girl's potential with The Force one of the Jedi persuaded Juhani to travel to Dantooine and seek out the Jedi for training, which she did.
