A Wookiee, a single member of their species, found themselves in bondage under the control of Zarien Kheev, a Zabrak who made his living through enslavement. Kheev was aligned with the Galactic Empire in the initial stages of the Galactic Civil War. This Wookiee was held captive within Kheev's encampment situated in Mos Eisley. During the year 0 BBY, Rianna Saren, an operative working for the Rebel forces, managed to get inside the camp with the goal of locating Kheev. The Wookiee suggested that she disable the primary security generator, a move that would provide her access to Kheev's central tower. As a gesture of thanks, Saren freed the Wookiee along with all the other people who were being held as slaves.
