During the time of the Clone Wars a genetic scientist designed a deadly virus fatal to members of the Caarite species on behalf of the Believers Sith cult. To satisfy their ego, the scientist marked the cellular structure of the virus at a sub-atomic level with a squiggle denoting the scientist's signature, hidden such that only the scientist could note the marking. The scientist was capable of reconfiguring the virus in a matter of weeks to modify its properties.
