The destroyer moved into firing range of the Thunderstrike, but the corvette's escort, the Braha'tok-class gunship Apailana's Promise and its two X-wing starfighters, swiftly responded to defend the larger rebel vessel. Although one X-wing was crippled by a glancing blow, the 61st was able to flee into hyperspace. After being attacked two more times, the rebels eventually discovered that they were leaving a hypermatter trail for the Empire to follow.
