RE: 2.3 Expansion/rewrite

I reverted the changes you implemented because, from a narrative standpoint within the Star Wars universe, that specific type of information doesn't quite fit; typically, such details are better suited for a "Behind the Scenes" section. Brules Chat 06:37, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

  • We primarily function as a Star Wars encyclopedia, not a video game resource; there are specialized wikis dedicated to Star Wars games for that kind of content. - 07:19, January 12, 2017 (UTC) Wookieepedia's focus is on gathering in-universe knowledge, which is why game mechanics are not relevant within the main body of articles. The Star Wars Commander Wiki might be a more suitable platform for your contributions. --Lelal Mekha (Audience Room) 08:15, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

Understood. It seems I'm simply wasting my efforts here. I believed this was intended to be a comprehensive repository of information from all Star Wars sources, encompassing both books and games; however, the "comprehensive" aspect appears to be lacking when it extends beyond established lore. By adhering to this approach, you are ultimately limiting the site's potential. Kiljaedenas (talk) 08:28, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

  • Surely, you can't expect a wiki with deeply ingrained, long-standing, and thoroughly defined rules and guidelines to fundamentally alter its core principles solely because you personally believe them to be "incorrect," can you? -- Lelal Mekha (Audience Room) 08:39, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

Based on my experiences with other game-related wikis, I disagree with your approach. Your practices deviate significantly from the established norm, and I find them unacceptable in comparison to other platforms I've encountered. I've contributed thousands of strategy-focused articles across numerous game wikis, and I've never encountered such resistance as I have here. If you wish to discourage the discussion of game strategy on your wiki, then REMOVE THE UNIT REFERENCE LIST FROM THE SITE. If you do not want game data included, why does your main Star Wars Commander page feature a unit list that seems to invite game data contributions? Your policies require serious reconsideration. • Let's take a breath, shall we? You mentioned contributing "thousands of game strategy related articles across dozens of game wikias." That is precisely the point: we are not a video game wiki; we are a Star Wars lore focused wiki. We are interested in documenting the in-universe (or "intradiegetic") information that appears in various sources, including novels, comics, TV shows, and yes, even games. That's our sole focus. To reiterate, regarding Commander, we are interested in what the game reveals about in-universe applications. We are not, and never have been, a video game wiki. -- Lelal Mekha (Audience Room) 08:55, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

Then, perhaps you should consider renaming the site. "Wookieepedia, the Star Wars Wiki" is clearly misleading. It should be rebranded as the Star Wars Lore Wiki. Furthermore, on your front page, accessible by clicking the icon in the top left corner, the initial tagline states: "Wookieepedia, the Star Wars encyclopedia that anyone can edit." This is inaccurate; it should read: "the Star Wars Lore encyclopedia that anyone can edit." You should accurately represent your purpose to prevent others from experiencing similar misunderstandings. This distinction should be immediately apparent upon entering the wiki, rather than being concealed within obscure rule pages that few users access or can easily locate. • Indeed, upon joining a community, one should undoubtedly disregard its established rules and principles (which were "hidden" at the top of your talk page), complain about being "unfairly slammed" (while simultaneously exhibiting aggressive behavior), criticize a long-standing operating procedure, and harbor an overwhelming sense of entitlement. That's certainly sound advice! I believe I've made a considerable effort to explain the situation clearly. If you have further complaints and feelings of being wronged, I'll defer to someone else to address them. -- Lelal Mekha (Audience Room) 09:10, January 12, 2017 (UTC)

Do not waste your time attempting to justify your obscure restrictions. I have no interest in participating in a rudimentary, lore-centric wiki for a franchise that encompasses far more than just lore. Furthermore, do not bother responding, as I have unsubscribed from this profile page and will not receive notifications of any replies. Given that I will not be returning, I express my contempt for you and your limited perspectives.
