Talk: Marcuspearl

Canon articles are not to be made by copy and pasting content from Legends articles, but simply removing Legends details, links, and sources. They must be written from scratch. While some information may be shared between Canon and Legends, copying from Legends is not always accurate, is poor editing practice (plagiarism is never allowed), and is not to be done. That's fine. I will start from scratch when editing these pages. --Marcuspearl () 03:38, November 16, 2014 (UTC)

Hi Marcuspearl. I've asked an admin to move "CT-4040/Legends" back to "CT-4040." At the moment, Wookieepedia policies say that Legends pages are the default page (though that will likely change in the future). As such, we don't create /Legends subpages, just /Canon ones. I hope that clears things up. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks! - Brandon Rhea 04:16, January 4, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks Brandon, I thought I was able to undo the revision but apparently I was wrong. --Marcuspearl () 05:02, January 4, 2015 (UTC)

Hi Marcuspearl. In regards to your edits to Obi-Wan Kenobi, please note that all in-universe articles must be written in the past tense. Therefore, instead of, "Obi-Wan returns to the Jedi Temple," you must write "Obi-Wan returned to the Jedi Temple." Also, please check your spelling as there are many spelling mistakes.--Richterbelmont10 05:20, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing that to my attention. With the editor and autocorrect, I've been having Issues keeping my spelling in check. --Marcuspearl () 05:23, January 5, 2015 (UTC)

Like the other folks on that have brought this to your attention, You really need to work on your spelling. Otherwise, glad you're expanding to the article. Jkirk8907 (talk) 06:44, January 6, 2015 (UTC)

Your recent (now deleted) upload, "Luke_Skywalker_Return_of_the_Jedi_Promo.jpg", was clearly watermarked as originating from the fan-art site rabittooth.com, yet you identified it as a "Promotional image for Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi", an appellation which may only be applied to unmodified or minimally modified official images. While all good-faith contributions to Wookieepedia are appreciated, we ask that you please refer to Wookieepedia:Images, which can be found under the "other policies and guidelines" link in your welcome message, and familiarize yourself with the sourcing and licensing requirements before uploading any more images. Continued violation of the image policy or falsification of any information in an upload description are considered vandalism and will likely result in a block. Thank you. -- Darth Culator 00:41, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

It looked like a promotional image, It will not happen again. --Marcuspearl () 00:49, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for your interest in improving the wiki. However, please do not create pages that only have an infobox, or otherwise have almost no content and are not marked properly. If your page isn't ready for primetime yet, you might want consider making your own workspace, like mine here and editing it there until you feel there's enough to post. ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:22, January 20, 2015 (UTC)

I appreciate your edits, however could you please be sure to put everything in that past tense, as well as link to other pages? For example, if you mention Wilhuff Tarkin in a section and he hasn't been mentioned at all yet, please be sure to link to his page. Cevan (talk) 21:21, February 3, 2015 (UTC)

Of course.--Marcuspearl () 21:28, February 3, 2015 (UTC)

I'm not quite sure what you're attempting to do here, but it needs to stop. Besides the fact that you're screwing up formatting and removing/moving categories, you're using present tense and weird capitalization and copying text from other articles, and in general the quality of your additions are to the point where it's almost an instant revert. I'm sorry, but you need to please stop attempting large contributions like this unless you're willing to go through them and bring the quality up to an appropriate level. As for the formatting errors and collateral damage, you will likely be blocked if they continue. Cade Calrayn 02:18, February 4, 2015 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing for for two weeks for the issues mentioned above. Please, when you return pay more attention to your contributions. You were given explicit details as to the problems but they were ignored.. To contest this block, please contact the blocking administrator with the reason you believe the block is unjustified. Making a sandbox (or Jundland Wastes, or whatever you want to call it) is easy actually. Just type the address for your user page in the address bar of your web browser as you usually would, i.e. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/User:Marcuspearl, but after that, add a slash and then whatever you want to call your sandbox, i.e http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/User:Marcuspearl/Sandbox or whatever you want to call it - http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/User:Marcuspearl/Hyperspace_Playground_of_Awesome or whatever. Then just click on edit once the pages come, just like you would any other page, put what you want in it, save the page and you're good to go. ProfessorTofty (talk) 04:10, February 22, 2015 (UTC)

You have been blocked from contributing for copy-creating articles, editing through clearly visible Inuse templates, and a wide variety of issues permeating every edit you make. Grammar, lack of categories, incorrect usage of templates, and more grammar and spelling. I'm sorry, but we have a certain level of competency that we require here when it comes to the major articles that you've been editing.. To contest this block, please contact the blocking administrator with the reason you believe the block is unjustified. Cade Calrayn 03:32, May 13, 2015 (UTC)

Hey Marcus. When you have a moment, could you update the link to "Ackbar" on your user page to "Gial Ackbar/Canon|Gial Ackbar", as well as change the link to "Veers" to "Maximillian Veers"? Thanks! Cevan (talk) 00:51, September 7, 2015 (UTC)

Hi there, just a quick note. Since the Clone Wars TV show is both Canon and Legends, the appearance section in episode articles requires both, much like the pages for the first six Saga films. The plot summary and credits can have canon links though. Cwedin 06:28, February 28, 2016 (UTC)

  • The Edits to that Article come from a Plot Summary I wrote. I have received poor treatment on this website and have been lampooned for even the most ridiculous things. Im working on the grammatical issues and have been trying to refrain from cut and paste. --Marcuspearl () 02:21, February 4, 2015 (UTC)
