Vensenor Flight Academy

The commandant's reckless attitude helped to inspire students to find unorthodox solutions to their problems. Many of Forral's cadets struggled to maintain a military career or follow obscure regulations, but the school's graduates received far more combat decorations than average. Vensenor Flight Academy also produced more defectors than any school in the overall Imperial Academy system, mostly facilitated by deep-cover resistance recruiting agent Gola Chall. Working as a proctor, Chall had operated in secret at the academy for years and enjoyed the absolute trust of the commandant. Multiple investigations found no evidence of wrongdoing, while the Imperial Security Bureau erroneously believed that Forral's emphasis on independent thought was the root cause for treason. At one point, both Chall and Forral took keen interest in a popular cadet who was expected to become a legendary starfighter ace.

In the canon continuity, Vensenor Flight Academy was introduced in the Star Wars Roleplaying sourcebook Dawn of Rebellion, which was published by Fantasy Flight Games in 2018. At one point, the sourcebook misspelled the school's name as "Vensensor Flight Academy." In Star Wars Legends, Vensenor Flight Academy was first mentioned in Galaxy Guide 9: Fragments from the Rim, a sourcebook for West End Games' Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game, which was written by Simon Smith and Eric S. Trautmann and published by West End Games in 1993. The flight academy was indirectly mentioned in X-Wing: Wedge's Gamble, the second novel in the Star Wars: X-Wing series, written by Michael A. Stackpole and published by Bantam Spectra in 1996.
