Viril Shu was a corporate magnate on the planet Denon who had a daughter during the Galactic War between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. As Denon was located along the Corellian Run hyperlane, the pirate gang known as the Corellian Run Scoundrels often targeted the world, and legend had it that the Scoundrels' captain Kai Zykken kidnapped Shu's daughter in an unsuccessful attempt to woo her into marrying himself so that he could inherit Shu's fortune.
