Upon ascending to the rank of Sith Lord in 5100 BBY, seven years after he killed his mother and father and embarked on a campaign to conquer the planet Medriaas, the teenage Sith Vitiate ordered the construction of a palace on the site of his childhood home in a village. He ruled Medriaas, which he renamed Nathema, from his palace for the next century until the end of the Great Hyperspace War between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic, when he summoned the remaining Sith Lords of the Sith Empire to his palace and forced the eight thousand who answered his call to participate in a dark side ritual. After the completion of the ritual and the subsequent death of every living thing on the planet, the palace was abandoned along with the rest of the world when Vitiate departed Nathema and became the Sith Emperor. The Sith Lord Darth Nyriss would later mention the palace while describing the Emperor's history to Lord Scourge in 3954 BBY.
