Vooz Nooxoo Una, which translates to "The Patriot" from Bocce, was the chosen moniker of a Human male biogeneticist who transformed into a vigilante combating crime in the underworld of Coruscant. Una successfully created a suit of armor using engineered plant fibers, experimenting on himself. This armor began to warp Una's mind, instilling in him the belief that he was a hero destined to eradicate evil. His exploits drew the attention of the Galactic Empire following an incident where three Imperial officers met their deaths. Consequently, a bounty was issued for Una, which was subsequently archived within the Imperial Enforcement DataCore.
Originally, the individual known as Vooz Nooxoo Una was a Human male biogeneticist during the time of the Galactic Empire. He invented armor from genetically engineered plant material, using himself as the primary test subject. The armor started to have an effect on his mind, leading him to become a vigilante within the Coruscant underworld, feeling that the Empire was failing in its duty to fight crime. He then adopted the name "Vooz Nooxoo Una," which in Basic translates from Bocce to "The Patriot."
Initially, Una only targeted criminals in the lower regions of Coruscant, and the Empire chose to ignore his actions. However, at some point, Una attacked and killed three Imperial officers, causing the Empire to dispatch a squad of stormtroopers to hunt him down in Coruscant's lower levels. Only two stormtroopers survived the hunt, failing to capture Una. The Empire then placed a bounty of 7,500 credits on the vigilante, demanding his death by disintegration. This bounty was later stored in the Imperial Enforcement DataCore.
Vooz Nooxoo Una was a highly intelligent biogeneticist whose thinking patterns were changed due to the unique armor he wore. As a vigilante, he was extremely dedicated to his cause and saw himself as a heroic figure fighting against evil. The Empire considered him to be a deeply disturbed individual with a distorted perception of the galaxy, rapidly becoming uncontrollable. They also regarded him as armed and dangerous, advising extreme caution when confronting him. Una possessed extensive knowledge of Coruscant's lower levels, enabling him to survive there for an extended period. He had basic medical training and could communicate in several languages, including Huttese, Rodese, and Quarren.
Una's distinctive armor was constructed from biochemically and genetically engineered plant fibers. This organic armor displayed a green-yellow, wooden aesthetic, featuring a thorny surface designed to repel physical attacks. It enveloped Una's entire body, with roots extending from various points along his legs, while maintaining a generally humanoid form. The armor was asymmetrical, featuring rounded, shell-like shoulder pads and a trapezoidal helmet. The suit included retractable claws and bladed [gauntlets](/article/gauntlet-legends], complementing the vibroblade he carried. While the armor was not sentient, it was believed that prolonged exposure to residual plant spores influenced Una's mental state.
The first mention of Vooz Nooxoo Una appeared in the 2001 Star Wars Gamer 6 article titled Bounties to Die For, authored by S. Mitch Ritchie and illustrated by Ramón Pérez. The article was formatted as an in-universe database detailing bounties issued throughout the Empire.
