The WLO-5 battle tank, also referred to as the WLO-5 speeder tank, was a repulsorlift tank that was manufactured by Ubrikkian Ord Pedrova. It had a length of 11.47 meters and could reach speeds of 110 kilometers per hour. It was equipped with two turbine engines at the rear for propulsion, armor plating, repulsor cooling vents at the front of the vehicle, and two steering vanes, one on each side.
It carried an armament of two frontal anti-personnel blasters and a top laser cannon crewed by a single gunner. Inside the tank, there was enough room for both pilots and troops.
The WLO-5 battle tanks were frequently used in lawless areas of the galaxy, often utilized by criminals and pirates to defend their strongholds from rivals and other enemies.
WLO-5 battle tanks were employed by the Weequay pirate Hondo Ohnaka and his Ohnaka Gang during the Clone Wars. Three were utilized during a Galactic Republic mission to Florrum but were disabled, and another was used against the Jedi, a group of bounty hunters, and Felucians during a skirmish on Felucia.
WLO-5 battle tanks were also present on Bilbousa, a city on Nal Hutta in a lot for starships up for sale. The tanks were utilized extensively on Florrum, first with the Jedi rescue of Padawan Ahsoka Tano from the Ohnaka Gang, and subsequently in the invasion of Florrum against the Confederacy of Independent Systems by the Jedi and members of the Ohnaka Gang.
The WLO-5 battle tank debuted in "The Gungan General," the twelfth episode of the first season of the animated TV-series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, released in 2009. It was first identified as the WLO-5 battle tank in Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know, a canon reference book released in 2015.
