The sole known existence of the XP-36 is as an unrealized toy prototype, developed for the Kenner toy range during the mid-1980s. The name clearly alludes to the XP-38 referenced in Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope, and it was planned to be included in The Epic Continues series of toys.
