Yun'o (singular Yun), or Great Ones, also known as the True Gods, was the word for the gods in the Yuuzhan Vong. Yun was also prefixed at the name of every deity of the Yuuzhan Vong. Depicted in paintings and sculptures, their physical appearances differed in interpretation from one domain to another. The gods were believed to live in a plane parallel from the physical universe, and were believed to possess physical bodies.
According to legend, in the Before-Time, Yun-Yuuzhan, the creator promised the lesser gods that they could ascend to his rank if they could find beings to take their place. To the Yuuzhan Vong, this meant a race such as themselves, and was the justification for their pursuit of escalation.
