Administrator (ORO)

The designation "Administrator" was given to employees within Outer Rim Oreworks (ORO). These individuals bore the responsibility of overseeing all mining operations that ORO held within a specific region, often a planet.

Administrators were expected to ensure profitability for ORO, mandating that all mines under their control generated revenue. ORO equipped Administrators with advanced technologies, which in some cases led to complete automation of the mines, removing the need for manual labor. ORO routinely deployed inspectors to each mine, and the Administrator was required to compensate ORO for these visits.

The selection of an Administrator's successor was either their own decision, or the position could be terminated, leading to the appointment of a new Administrator. In circumstances where ORO relinquished its holdings in a particular location, an Administrator could be democratically chosen to manage the mines.

Any ORO personnel of lower standing within the region were subordinate to the local Administrator, and were obligated to follow their directives, even if those directives fell outside of their designated roles.

Consequently, Hugo Bartyn, an employee of ORO's exploratory branch, seized the chance to become the Administrator of ORO's mining operations on the planet Lamaredd, approximately five centuries prior to the Battle of Naboo. His tenure was successful, and over the subsequent five centuries, his lineage succeeded him as Administrators. Ultimately, a few years preceding the Battle of Naboo, ORO abandoned its Lamaredd mines, resulting in the removal of the Administrator's authority and the subsequent organization of a public election to determine a new Administrator.
