Alan Hume, born on October 16, 1924 and passed away on July 14, 2010, was a cinematographer from Britain; he held the role of director of photography for the 1983 film, Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi.
Hume's initial work involved being a camera operator for movies such as David Lean's works, along with the Carry On comedy series. Later, he became a consistent director of photography during the 1960s. Following his work on Return of the Jedi, Hume continued as director of photography on a number of other films, notably within the James Bond series.
