All Terrain Tactical Enforcer (cargo transport)

Some All Terrain Tactical Enforcer walker models from the Galactic Empire were adapted to become open-topped cargo transports, playing a support role analogous to the All Terrain Open Transport.

Characteristics

Frequently, they were employed to assist Imperial mining activities, in addition to transporting troops and supplies to various bases and outposts. While seating was available for 8 individuals, the vehicle could transport a substantial number of troops if no cargo was present.

These walkers lacked any built-in weapons systems, necessitating reliance on other armored vehicles for defense. However, the walker did possess sufficient space to transport multiple E-Web repeating blasters along with their associated gear. The cargo area needed to be emptied and the weapons set up before they could be used for the walker's defense.

AT-TE cargo walkers came equipped with a number of helpful attachments, including a front-mounted cable that could be connected to immobilized vehicles for towing assistance. Even vehicles as large as HAVw A5 Juggernauts found this feature useful, and the recovery of other vehicles was a task at which the AT-TE cargo walker excelled. A loading arm was installed on the AT-TE cargo walker to facilitate the loading and unloading of cargo.

History

These walkers also saw use in a variety of repair projects. In the aftermath of the Battle of Kalist VI, AT-TEs of this variant were instrumental in clearing the debris of a destroyed Imperial base, as well as installing replacement parts using a crane-like attachment.
