Alliance Base #16, which was also known as Gaulus base, served as a clandestine installation for the Alliance to Restore the Republic and was situated on the planet of Gaulus. Commander [Mehar Grot] (/article/mehar_grot) was in charge of the base during the Galactic Civil War. Grot uncovered that a 3PO-series protocol droid allocated to their second-in-command was actually an espionage droid that had already sent the position and defensive capabilities of the base to the Galactic Empire. Imperial forces destroyed the base not long after this discovery.
