Almakian apple

Almakian apples, a type of fruit utilized in culinary practices, served as a key component in the preparation of all-Almakian apple pie. This pie held significant cultural importance for the Leffingite species residing on the world of Almak, who relished this particular pie immensely. The pie creation process involved spicing fresh, succulent apples with Kessinnamon and encasing them in a golden crust crafted from pom seed flour before baking.

Dexter Jettster's eatery, known as Dex's Diner, which was owned by the Besalisk chef, offered all-Almakian apple pie as a dessert option within the CoCo Town district of the planet Coruscant. The pie was priced at 2.5 credits, with the option to enhance it with denta bean ice cream for an additional 2.2 credits, reflecting Jettster's personal fondness for the dish. Furthermore, Almakian apple fruit juice was also on the menu, available in generous servings for 2.5 credits and smaller portions for 1.7 credits. Both these items were featured on the menu prior to the diner's destruction, which occurred within the initial two years of the Galactic Empire's reign.

Behind the scenes

The initial mention of Almakian apples occurred in "Dining at Dex's," a StarWars.com Hyperspace exclusive article from 2009. Gregory Walker authored the piece, presenting it as an in-universe menu for Dex's Diner. Although the article associated the apples with the species indigenous to Almak, it refrained from explicitly stating their origin.
