Amaro Fonteen

Amaro Fonteen, a performer of operatic works, existed in the time of the Imperial Era. At the debut performance of The Kallea Cycle on Brentaal on 38:2:13, he took on the role of Banu Hydia, a Duros scout.

Biography

To embody Hydia in his performance, he used green coloring on his face and hands, red coloring around his eyes, and a rubber nose prosthetic. The casting of Fonteen, a Human, to play Hydia, rather than a traditional Duros double bass vocalist, sparked considerable controversy in the press. Both the Brentaal Hall Conservatory and the Brentaal Council on High Human Culture issued declarations rejecting "the restrictive notion that a human could not voice a Duros character."
