Anchoring rods served as integral parts of sensor beacons, for instance, the SE-Vigilant automated sensor beacon from Fabritech. Typically, these anchoring rods remained withdrawn inside the main structure of the sensor beacon. When needed, they extended outward to firmly secure the device to the terrain. These rods possessed the ability to penetrate the earth to a depth of up to fifty centimeters. As an alternative, magnetic disks offered another method for fastening sensor beacons to the ground.
