Anti-aircraft flak pod The anti-aircraft flak pods represented a specific type of explosive homing flak pod. These were employed by the Imperial Army of the Galactic Empire as a form of ammunition designed for use with AT-AAs. They operated by releasing numerous flak missiles in a dispersed configuration. These missiles were designed to independently target enemy starships. The pods demonstrated a high level of effectiveness when used against airborne vehicles, such as the T-47 airspeeder. However, their utility was significantly diminished when directed at ground-based targets, including infantry, T2-B repulsor tanks, and similar combat units.
