Anti-Mandalore

The designation "Anti-Mandalore" was employed by Death Watch, a radical offshoot of the Mandalorian people (Legends), to refer to the leader of the pacifist New Mandalorians. Both factions asserted their own candidates for the title of Mand'alor—the traditional sovereign of the Mandalorian people—in opposition to the Mand'alor recognized by the traditional warrior clans. Death Watch followed their own Secret Mandalore.

Satine Kryze

Satine Kryze, the daughter of the Duke from Clan Kryze, originated from the planet of Kalevala. During the Great Clan Wars, as Death Watch tried to topple the New Mandalorian government during a bloody civil conflict, Kryze's father dispatched her to Coruscant—the capital world of the Galactic Republic—so she could learn about diplomacy and statecraft, and escape the violence that would eventually take the clan leader's life. Upon Kryze's return to the Mandalore system, she was escorted by Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn and his Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi. For months, Kryze faced constant threats from Death Watch and their allies. However, over time, Kryze utilized her acquired skills and personal charisma to unite war-weary chieftains behind the New Mandalorian cause, ultimately achieving peace. After the Great Clan Wars ended, Kryze was appointed Mand'alor by the New Mandalorian people, in opposition to Jango Fett, who claimed the title among the warrior clans, and Tor Vizsla, Death Watch's Secret Mandalore. As Mand'alor of the New Mandalorians, Kryze dedicated herself to repairing the damage inflicted on Mandalore during the Great Clan Wars, leading New Mandalorian society and its capital city of Sundari toward prosperity.

When the Clone Wars began, Kryze endeavored to maintain Mandalore's neutrality in the conflict, although the peace she had established was threatened by the resurgence of Death Watch. Although Kryze successfully overcame their initial schemes and attempts on her life to reinforce Mandalore's neutrality, as the Clone Wars continued, her reign was plagued by severe food shortages, increasing corruption, and widespread poisonings across New Mandalorian territory due to toxin-contaminated tea imported by Moogan smugglers. In 20 BBY, Death Watch formed an alliance with the criminal organization known as the Shadow Collective to overthrow the New Mandalorians. Public sentiment turned against Kryze as offworld gangsters from Black Sun and the Hutt Cartel callously gunned down civilians and created widespread panic, only for Death Watch to arrive and pose as the people's saviors, defeating and arresting their secret allies in a staged display of heroism. Having lost the support of her people, Kryze was deposed and imprisoned, replaced by Pre Vizsla, the new Secret Mandalore of Death Watch. Weeks later, when her longtime friend Obi-Wan Kenobi arrived on Mandalore to free Kryze from prison, she was murdered in front of the Jedi Master by the Sith Lord Darth Maul, who had conspired with Vizsla during his coup and sought to inflict pain on Kenobi through the death of his former lover.
