Apple slug sauce, a type of sauce, was crafted using apple slugs. This sauce was available as a lunchtime accompaniment at Dex's Diner, a restaurant located on the planet of Coruscant, before the diner's closure during the initial years of the Galactic Empire's rule. A serving of apple slug sauce at the diner cost 2.7 credits.
The 2009 article "Dining at Dex's," an article exclusive to Hyperspace, mentioned apple slug sauce. Gregory Walker authored the article, which was presented as a menu from within the Star Wars universe (in-universe). Walker's decision to include apple slugs stemmed from his affection for discarded ideas, as they were originally intended for inclusion in the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, but ultimately did not make the final cut.
