Archon was a Nebulon-B2 frigate under the control of the Imperials. When the prison station Bundil II sent out a distress call, the frigate was dispatched to provide assistance. The station needed help because the Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser VTR-LX had been rendered inoperable during a Rebel mission to free its captives. However, upon the Archon's arrival, it was discovered that the Rebels and the freed prisoners had already fled the station, having planted an explosive device that subsequently annihilated the Dreadnaught.
