By the year 0 ABY, this music had gained notoriety throughout the galaxy due to its capacity to induce auditory hemorrhaging in Human ears with only a few notes. Consequently, its broadcast was restricted beyond its home system. During 0 ABY, the Rebel droid R2-D2 utilized a recording of Aridinian music as a diversion, facilitating the escape of his companions—Leia Organa, Han Solo, and Chewbacca—from the renegade Imperial Commander Rezi Soresh. Conversely, Luke Skywalker, another member of R2-D2's group, remained behind to maintain his disguise as Soresh's assassin.
The initial introduction of Aridinian folk music occurred in Rebel Force: Uprising, the sixth book in the Star Wars: Rebel Force collection. This book was written by Alex Wheeler and released in 2010.
