Askaji
Askaji, alternatively known as Askaj, functioned as the homeworld for the Askajians. This planet was situated in the Outer Rim Territories, a considerable distance from the Rimma Trade Route. This planet possessed a single moon, referred to as the Moon Lady, which the inhabitants revered as a deity.
Society
Instead of a unified central government, Askaj was characterized by tribal societies. The technological advancement on this planet was relatively limited when contrasted with other regions of the galaxy.
Tomuon held a significant role in the existence of the Askajians, as they utilized them as a source of sustenance, housing, textiles, and various other necessities.
History
Grand Moff Wilkadon held administrative control over the planet, and his oppressive rule led numerous Askajians to seek refuge on Tatooine. Following the Battle of Endor, the New Republic successfully liberated the planet.
Behind the scenes
The 2011 edition of the Star Wars Character Encyclopedia marked the initial instance in Star Wars Legends material where the planet was identified as "Askaji", which is its current designation within canon.
