Askhew

The Askhew were a short, furry species of humanoids who originated on the planet of Entooine. These creatures were famous for domesticating the native quohrs, harnessing them to pull their sleds. They would hunt the common brown bantha found on their world for sustenance and hides, but they considered the blue banthas to be entities of spiritual significance. The Shamans of the Askhew engaged with the blue banthas by presenting them with a brown bantha's lower leg bone, using this as a means to pose questions. Despite the blue banthas possessing the ability to speak, the Ashkew lacked the capacity to comprehend their language, instead deciphering simple responses by observing the rhythm of the bantha's hoofbeats. During the time of the Galactic Civil War, the Ashkew found themselves in a predicament that required them to seek assistance from the Rebel outpost situated nearby. They communicated to A-3P0, the protocol droid stationed at the base, about a "roaring meteor" which was causing distress among the bantha herds, compelling them to venture further afield in search of food, thereby endangering the Ashkew tribes with the threat of famine. Furthermore, outsiders were preying on the revered blue banthas, targeting them for their horns. Krelk, who was an Ashkew chieftain, went with a team of Rebels during their pursuit of Jowart Typok. This resolved their troubles, as the group successfully destroyed Typoka's craft, putting an end to his hunting activities.
