Astrocartography

Astrocartography was a methodology employed to precisely determine galactic coordinates for various star systems, as well as to modify hyperspace routes. This ensured that navigation computers possessed the latest information regarding the constantly evolving galactic structure. Given the perpetual movement of stars within the galaxy at velocities measured in kilometers each second, these updates were crucial. The Space Ministry was responsible for recalculating and distributing these updates, making them available to navicomputers for a small charge through ministry branches or via download at any spaceport. To assist the Space Ministry, data from starships' navicomputers, including route and sensor information, was regularly collected and submitted for analysis by the ministry's astrogation division.
