At-cyb husher mike

The At-cyb husher mike, a product of Crozo Industrial Products, represented a state-of-the-art internal comlink employing cybernetic technology.

Description

This internal comlink, the At-cyb husher mike, was engineered by Crozo Industrial Products. It capitalized on cutting-edge cybernetic miniaturization techniques and necessitated surgical implantation near the larynx of the user. Microsensors were also implanted inside the mouth.

For signal transmission, the user engaged in subvocalization, subtly mimicking the movements of the jaw, tongue, and vocal cords as in normal speech. This process generated no audible sound, and the minimal jaw and tongue movements often escaped the notice of observers. The husher mike translated these subvocalization movements and vocal cord vibrations into electrical impulses, which were then converted into comlink transmissions via short-range transponders. The signal could be picked up by a comlink tuned to the broadcast frequency within a range of three kilometers.

Given that the system lacked the capacity to receive audio transmissions, users needed to carry a separate comlink or transmitter to receive messages. The husher mike found application among individuals seeking to evade detection by audio surveillance systems like "sound snoopers". However, military-grade communications scanner possessed the capability to intercept the husher mike's transmissions.

The standard At-cyb husher mike, which was visible, carried a price tag of three thousand credits. An enhanced model, featuring an encryption module, could be implanted directly beneath the skin for an additional two thousand credits. This version was only detectable via medical or weapons scanners.
