AT-ST Training Program

The AT-ST Training Program, a creation of the Imperial Academy, offered individuals the opportunity to learn the operation of an All Terrain Scout Transport. Serving as an initial assessment for prospective Imperial Academy entrants, it was situated in various locations, including Tatooine in the Outer Rim, in proximity to Tosche Station.

Regiment

The AT-ST Training Program mandated completion of three distinct sections:

  • The initial segment focused on familiarizing trainees with the walker's controls, enabling them to maneuver it effectively. [1]

  • The subsequent segment assessed the trainee's proficiency in utilizing the AT-ST's blaster weaponry. [1]

  • The concluding segment required trainees to engage and eliminate droids released into the training area, with a quota of ten droids to be destroyed. [1]

Following successful completion of the training regimen, trainees were instructed to submit an application to the Screening office within their respective sector of the Imperial Space Academy.

History

During an unspecified time within the Galactic Civil War, Luke Skywalker engaged in the AT-ST Training Program on Tatooine. This decision would have unforeseen consequences for the Imperials, as Skywalker later commandeered an AT-ST during the Defense of Ralltiir to facilitate the evacuation of scientists from the planet.

Behind the scenes

The AT-ST Training Program was featured within Star Wars: Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike as part of the introductory mission, "Tatooine Training." It functioned as a tutorial for AT-ST gameplay, owing to Rebel Strike's inclusion of AT-ST segments. It is positioned between the Landspeeder and Swoop Bike tutorials.

While the training concludes after finishing the easy version of Droid Hunt, players have the option to tackle all remaining Droid Hunt scenarios, progressing up to the hard difficulty setting. Successfully completing all Droid Hunt scenarios unlocks the Landspeeder for use throughout the mission.
