Atril Tabanne, a Human female from Coruscant, served as an officer within the New Republic Defense Fleet. Prior to joining the Rebel Alliance, she graduated from the Imperial Academy and flew a TIE/LN starfighter as a pilot.
During 7 ABY, Tabanne, holding the rank of Lieutenant, was the executive officer aboard the captured CR90 corvette known as the Night Caller, part of Wraith Squadron. Due to the limited number of pilots in Wraith Squadron with TIE fighter expertise, Atril's background meant she served both as a pilot and a bridge officer. Following Captain Choday Hrakness' death in the Battle of Talasea, Tabanne assumed command of the Night Caller and received a promotion to Captain.
During the Battle of Ession, she briefly handed over command to Wedge Antilles. This was because she felt her experience wasn't sufficient to execute the complex ship maneuvers he outlined to evade potential defensive strikes. In exchange, she took his place leading Wraith Squadron's TIE fighter group, before resuming her command role afterwards.
