Baas-class space station

The Baas-class space station acted as a supply depot in deep-space for the Galactic Empire. A station of this type could be found within the Rainos Cluster.

Description

These stations were structured with twenty storage decks, divided equally above and below the docking facilities, reaching a total height of 900 meters. Consequently, a single station could accommodate up to 1 million metric tons of cargo, including consumables sufficient for two years. The standard crew complement consisted of 250 individuals (with a minimum of 40), in addition to Imperial DepotSec personnel, whose numbers ranged from 12 to 100 depending on the station's strategic value. Shielding protected each station, and at least four TIE/LN starfighters provided defensive capabilities.

History

Durastar Construction, a corporation situated on the planet of Malastare, secured the contract for the Baas-class space station's production. Following Imperial approval of the station's design, Durastar proved its manufacturing capabilities by rapidly constructing a prototype in a mere 25 days. Impressed by this feat, the Empire commissioned numerous additional Baas-class stations, thereby furnishing Durastar with the necessary funds to expand its infrastructure and fulfill the order.
