Bal Serinus, a Dark Jedi guardian of female gender, existed in the era of the Ruusan campaign and beyond. On Nar Shaddaa, while she was scouring the palace of a Hutt slaver for Sith relics, she came across the disgraced Jedi, Set Harth. They engaged in a protracted duel, ultimately leading to their capture by the Hutt slaver. Despite being held in individual cells, Harth and Serinus used the Force to communicate. Harth vowed to keep Serinus safe, but she abruptly cut off their telepathic connection due to her anxieties. Because of this perceived offense, Harth vowed to get even with her.
