Balis-Baurgh, a habitable world, existed within the Balis-Baurgh system located in the Mid Rim region of the galaxy; it was classified as a planet. It was the sole planet in its system capable of supporting life.
For hundreds of years, this world was devastated by constant conflict among its various nations. Eventually, a peace agreement was reached, and to represent their newfound unity, the major powers of the planet chose to construct a space station. Nevertheless, Imperial operatives intervened, sabotaging the station and cleverly manipulating the leaders of the dominant nations into accusing one another. As Balis-Baurgh teetered on the edge of renewed warfare, the Empire seized the opportunity to invade and establish dominion over the planet.
The aforementioned space station was transformed into a completely automated prison facility. This facility was managed by 4XB Programmer Droids, heavily armed K5 Enforcer Droids, L2 Base Labor Droids, and a variety of astromechs. The Empire used it to house both common criminals and Rebels. Noteworthy Rebel prisoners included individuals such as Junas Turner, Grael the Ewok, Becker, and Lon.
