Devaron massacre

The clash at the Temple of Eedit occurred on the planet of Devaron in 20 BBY during the era of the Clone Wars.

The Confrontation

Before the conflict, the Temple of Eedit was under the control of the Republic forces, functioning as a concealed military base. Count Dooku dispatched his Separatist Army to launch an assault in order to seize the temple. In response, the Republic deployed two Jedi, Master Halsey and his Padawan Knox, along with a contingent of ARF troopers. The Republic forces initially managed to repel the Separatist onslaught, gaining an advantage in the engagement. However, Dooku, seeking to evaluate the capabilities of his new apprentice, Savage Opress, dispatched him to Devaron with orders to conclude the battle and eliminate the Republic presence. Upon his arrival, Opress brutally massacred all the clones, including ARF Commander Trauma, an outcome facilitated by the clones' imprudent decision to engage Savage in close quarters combat. Encountering the two Jedi guarding the temple entrance, he attacked Halsey. Despite the Roonan's valiant efforts, Opress defeated and killed him. Knox, witnessing the demise of his master, retaliated against the killer. However, Opress effortlessly struck him across the chest, sending him hurtling into the temple doors, resulting in his death. Having successfully accomplished his objective, Opress returned to Serenno.

The Repercussions

Shortly after Opress's assault, Delta Squad (Fixer, Boss, Scorch and Sev) arrived at the Jedi Temple carrying the deceased bodies of Halsey and Knox. Jedi High Council members Obi-Wan Kenobi, Adi Gallia, Plo Koon and Saesee Tiin had convened to discuss the recent occurrences on Devaron. Meanwhile, upon his return to Serenno, Savage Opress informed his master of the mission's success. Dooku proclaimed that together, they would surpass Darth Sidious in power and rule the Galaxy.
