"Battle Droids and Other Droids of War" represents a single installment within the Star Wars Encyclopedia collection of reference materials, brought to the public by De Agostini. Its release date was July 27, 2021.
Initially utilized by the Trade Federation amidst the Naboo Crisis, battle droids ultimately evolved into a primary military force for the Separatists throughout the Clone Wars. These droids served certain adversaries of the Republic, who found the technological constraints of the droids acceptable in light of the vast quantities of all models produced. Subsequent iterations of battle droids gradually mitigated these shortcomings, with certain models, including droidekas and super battle droids, proving to be considerably more formidable adversaries. Baktoid Workshops, the original creator of the initial battle droids, continued to develop numerous additional war droid models over time, even collaborating with the Galactic Empire itself.
