The Kaal conflict is recorded as one of the battles during the Imperial Civil War, specifically in the year 6 ABY. In the aftermath of the Battle of Endor, the New Republic fought against the Galactic Empire, whose forces were led by Admiral Uther Kermen, and the forces of warlord Utoxx Prentioch for dominion over Kaal, a planet abundant in food resources.
Although diplomatic solutions were attempted with assigned diplomats, Kermen eventually became impatient. He initiated an attack on Prentioch's flagship, known as the Prentioch, utilizing his own flagship, the Belligerent. The ensuing engagement resulted in a standstill; both flagships sustained such heavy damage that they were forced to retreat. Ultimately, this led to the New Republic securing control of Kaal.
