The seizure of the planet Kaikielius by the Imperial forces marked the initial engagement in the Coruscant-directed segment of the Imperial offensive that preceded Shadow Hand, occurring in 10 ABY. This battle, succeeded by attacks on Metellos and Alsakan, led the New Republic to believe that an Imperial attack targeting Coruscant was about to happen.
